Internal Controls are established practices and procedures used by management that prevent misuse of assets and reduce the risk of asset loss. The goal of putting internal controls in place is to create effective business practices that serve as a “check and balance” for your organization’s staff,board members or outside vendors in order to reduce your organization’s financial risk. To evaluate the strength of your existing internal controls, we’ve prepared a checklist below that details a few procedures that should be of high priority to your organization.
