On Thursday December 26th, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated a nationwide injunction halting enforcement of BOI reporting requirements. This decision reverses a ruling earlier this week on Monday from the same court that reinstated the requirement and delayed enforcement of the original January 1, 2025, reporting deadline.

Currently, the injunction means reporting companies are not required to comply with BOI filings until further notice. However, the AICPA advises businesses to continue gathering the necessary information in case the injunction is lifted again. We are closely monitoring updates from the courts and FinCEN.
